Pet Passports

animal vaccinations sligo

Taking your pet abroad can often be a stressful time. However, thanks to the EU ‘pet passport scheme’, pets can now travel between European countries much more easily.

These passports only work for EU member countries, however, so if you are planning on leaving Europe with your pet by your side you will have to check the rules and regulations of that particular country prior to your visit.

For your pet to travel either in to or out of Ireland, they must have the following:

    ► A registered microchip.
► An up to date rabies vaccination (at least 21 days before date of travel).
► A passport – we apply for this on your behalf.
► Appropriate anti-parasite treatments at a correct and recorded time.
► Appropriate travel arrangements and accessories!.

Failure to comply may result in an extended stint in quarantine for your pet either before or after your travel, so please make sure that you prepare in plenty of time so you don’t face delays or problems.
