Brian was inspired at a young age by the high standards set by his father and uncle (both vets!) and knew very early on that he wanted to follow in their footsteps and provide veterinary care and advice to the animals of Sligo. He qualified from University College Dublin in 1991.
Brian enjoys treating farm animals and companion animals, his specialist interests are herd health and orthopaedics. Brian has undergone additional training in the most current orthopaedic procedures for a wide range of conditions.
Clinics from all over the northwest refer dogs and cats to Brian for fracture repairs, cruciate repairs and other orthopaedic conditions.

In his free time, Brian is a passionate Sligo Rovers supporter.
The Furry Friends In His Life: His running partner and dog Clooney and a very pretty cat called Belle.
Aisling is originally from Sligo and has travelled extensively. She trained as a veterinary nurse in the UK and joined our team in 2020.
Aisling is devoted to providing the absolute best care and most up to date treatments to our patients and enjoys medical nursing and dentistry.
Specialist Interests: Aisling has a special interest in our feline friends and takes great pride in providing a stress free environment. If they need to stay with us for a time lots of treats and snuggles are guaranteed.
The Furry Friends In Her Life: Aisling has a horse called Noel and two gorgeous cats called Pixie and Freddy.
Tara is a native of Leitrim and is very experienced with large and small animals after a childhood spent looking after sheep and cattle on her parents’ farm. She completed several student placements with us and we were delighted when she joined the team in 2020.
Tara has a special affinity for older patients, and always makes sure they are comfortable and cosy in their underfloor heated kennels during periods of hospitalisation.
Some of Tara’s duties include inpatient care and surgical preparation and monitoring of anaesthetics – she monitors your pet’s vital signs from the moment they receive their first premedication, through their procedures and in their recovery phase.
Specialist Interests: Care of older patients ensuring maximum comfort in recovery periods. The Furry Friend In Her Life: A beautiful Springer called Henry who loves going mountain walking with Tara in her free time.
